The Placement Cell members visited different firms at all over India, and held discussions with various firms in the software development, electronic hardware manufacture and engineering fields. Many of them evinced interest in providing industrial training and placement to the students of the college. These discussions were followed up and as a result, a number of firms visited the college and held recruitment of the students of the college and the students were called to other colleges where the firms were holding recruitment. A list of students who secured placement in some important companies is given here. Some more companies are expected to visit the college for recruitment once the university examinations are over. A group of highly efficient and dedicated pre-final year students under the leadership of a student placement coordinator, organized the campus recruitment programme of the companies at the college. Looking Ahead While it has been a year filled with activities and satisfactory results for the Training and Placement Cell, it goes without saying that much more has to be aimed at. Raising the level of information support for the students, wider exposure to the industry, enthusing more students to take the relevant training courses and inculcating the spirit of entrepreneurship in the campus community are the areas needing further intensity. In the fast changing technological scenario the industries have little time to focus on fresh man power requirement, therefore it becomes mandatory for the institution to design a successful policy in this regard. The goal is to help build a long – term career with leading organizations and not just place the students. It is an integral part of the institute. The institute has provided complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell. A well organized training and placement cell is functioning in the Institution with a fulltime dedicated Training and Placement Officer who has long experience in industry – both private and PSU. She maintains a consistent communication with the leading companies for placement of the students. The training deals with making the student feel confident and develop both leadership as well as a managerial quality.
